Aldgate Pump Sales
and Service Aldgate Pumps (as it's known by employees and customers) was named by James Colotti during 1979. Prior to this James's father Peter Colotti owned and operated a bore pump repair business with a "service rig" precariously mounted on the "old blue" Land Rover. Peter (from proud Italian heritage) and his lovely Australian born wife Maree, began the business of providing service and maintenance to bore hole pumps right back in 1954. Working from their home situated on Strathalbyn Road Aldgate, the business operated successfully for many years. |

During late 1979 James Colotti invited David Ward to join him in the business. James and David were friends (both being musicians) and together they set out to develop and grow the original service rig business into a quality product sales and services oriented organisation that provides a high level of customer support. The start up business was run on a shoe string during the early years with both families providing support in many and varied ways. A early highlight was winning the Stirling Chamber of Commerce "1984 Business of the Year" and pictured above receiving the plague from the then President - from left to right - David Ward, James Colotti and "President" Digby Morris. As the business grew so did the need for more experienced and dedicated employees and the first to join was James's younger brother "Peter Colotti" during December 1982. During the height of summer in January 1985 we were delighted to retain the services of "Bruce Cox". These young people formed the nucleus of the team during the early to mid 1980's. James and David purchased and developed the current business premises site during 1986 and the team's skills were further enhanced during October 1989 with Tim Oinns joining us and bringing knowledge in general engineering and higher workshop standards. The Y2K issues with the year 2000 were overcome with a new computer and software suite supported by Elaine Jenkins who joined us in 1999 in administration. In more recent years David's son "James Ward" further built on the team's strengths with his inclusion early 2002 coming from a background in "retail" management. In 2006 our team was enhanced with the inclusion of Aaron Galvin and Wade Heffernan. Both are mechanically minded individuals and eager to learn the pump industry, which in turn has improved our service and customer support.
